Dasatinib Tablets 50 mg is a targeted therapy medication used primarily in the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) that are positive for the Philadelphia chromosome (Ph+). It is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that works by inhibiting the activity of the BCR-ABL fusion protein, which is produced by the Philadelphia chromosome and drives the growth of abnormal leukemia cells.

Dasatinib is typically taken orally once daily, as directed by a healthcare provider. Common side effects of dasatinib may include fatigue, fluid retention, headache, diarrhoea, nausea, low blood counts (leading to an increased risk of infections, anaemia, or bleeding), and heart-related issues. Regular monitoring, including blood tests and heart function assessments, is essential to manage potential side effects and ensure the drug’s effectiveness in treating leukaemia.
